Lenten Community Food Drive

 

Lent often is thought of as a time of giving up something, but it also can be a time to engage in works of love. In this light, Trinity Lutheran Church will host a community food drive to benefit the Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard in Ambler. From Wednesday, March 6 to Friday, April 19,  we will be collecting non-perishable boxed and canned food items. As Spring approaches, the Cupboard is in need of the following items:

  • coffee;

  • tea;

  • jelly and jam;

  • condiments such as relish, mayonnaise, sauce, mustard, and ketchup; barbeque sauce

  • kid snacks;

  •  bath bar soap;

  • boxed pasta such as ziti or penne;

  •  canned foods, including chicken, sardines, and hash.

Please note, canned food may not exceed three years past the expiration date. Boxed items may not exceed 180 days past expiration. Items may be placed on in the box on the covered porch or on the table outside the parlor. Your donations are appreciated.
