About Us

Since 1894, Trinity Lutheran Church has been a neighborhood church nestled in Old Fort Washington. Sitting on the corner of Summit and Spring Avenue, Trinity has been a foundation for many who live within walking distance. Over the years, this church has witnessed incredible neighborhood and community growth. In an effort to support that growth, Trinity is a friendly church that welcomes all people to join us for the worship of God, regardless of background. Our style of worship is traditional and relaxed. No need to dress up--just come as you are.

Trinity is rooted in the Gospel of Christ who showed us how to welcome everyone!

There are no exceptions. Jesus was famous for extending a radical welcome to everyone he met. He crossed over all kinds of human-made boundaries and divisions. Having received Jesus’ radical welcome ourselves, we extend that same welcome to all people. At Trinity, every person matters and is celebrated as a gift from God without exception.

Whatever your race, culture, or color, you are welcome here. Regardless of marital status, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, political philosophy, physical or intellectual ability, you are welcome here. If you are inked, pierced, both, or neither, you are welcome here. When you come with squirmy toddlers or vocal infants, you are welcome here. It doesn't matter if you have a background in the Lutheran church or not. Whether you come from another church or no church, you are welcome here. If you strongly believe or are unsure if you believe anything, you are welcome here. This welcome extends to the celebration of Holy Communion as well: Jesus welcomes everyone to his table.

We believe that his Holy Supper is a gift of pure grace given for all!
